Dr. Elena Simonova provides a unique combination of training and experience both as a conventional MD and as an alternative care provider. For number of years, she practiced medicine in a renowned hospital of a leading aerospace region of Russia; and since 2009, she has been active in the field of wellness and integrated medicine in South Florida.
Dr. Simonova graduated Summa Cum Laude from the Atlantic Institute of Oriental Medicine with two degrees — a Master’s of Science in Oriental Medicine and Bachelor in Health Science. She extended her studies with a clinical internship at ATOM Intern Clinic of Fort Lauderdale, Florida and at the Integrated Medical Clinic of Jupiter, Florida.
Earlier in Russia, Dr. Simonova earned her MD degree at the Samara State Medical Institute, completed post-graduate medical specialty training in gastroenterology, and was a resident physician at Medical Hospital #357 in the city of Samara.
As a result, Dr. Simonova has broad knowledge of alternative medicine, including acupuncture, herbal medicine, moxibustion, cupping, gua-sha, tui-na, auricular therapy, point injection therapy, homeopathy and dietary nutrition therapy. At the same time, in the field of conventional medicine, she has a keen awareness of diagnostic techniques, treatment options, and patient management, helping her to interface seamlessly with a wide range of general practitioners, specialty physicians, and other health care providers.
